Frequently Asked Questions

We are in network with most health insurance plans and are happy to file insurance claims for you. Just bring your insurance card with you on your first visit and we will verify your benefits. You generally do not need a referral. If your problem is one that we can help with, we will let you know what type of chiropractic treatments and/or tests are recommended and the cost of care (including insurance) before moving forward. Unfortunately, many Americans are underinsured or face high deductibles and copays. The average cost of a chiropractic adjustment at Active Life Chiropractic is $40-$50.
Chiropractic Adjustments (manipulations) are designed to restore function to the spine, alleviate pain and support the body’s ability to heal itself. You may be asked to lay on a special table, where Dr. Mason does the spinal adjustments. (similar to a massage table) Adjustments are customized for each patient depending on age and exam findings. Some adjustments require an instrument while others are performed by hand (manual adjustments). It is not common to feel pain during adjustments, and most patients feel an increase in energy immediately. 10-15% of patients experience muscle soreness comparable to an exercise workout due to changes in the spine’s musculature.
Because of the approach that Dr. Mason uses (corrective chiropractic care), all patients are instructed on how to prevent the problem from returning. This may include at-home exercises, stretches or lifestyle changes. Because each person is different, each at-home care plan is different.
We strive to begin serving you as soon as possible. Most new patients are offered an appointment on the same day that they call us. Following a consultation/examination, Dr. Mason will let you know how soon it will take to see results and how much improvement you should expect to experience.
If your problem is one that Dr. Mason can help with, he will let you know what type of chiropractic treatments are recommended and what percentage of improvement you can expect. For example: One person can expect to see a 100% recovery while another might only expect an 80% recovery based on previous injuries, health problems, etc. From there, we let you decide if we are a good fit for you and how to proceed.
We work in conjunction with other specialties, but most patients are able to correct their problem in our office without outside therapies and treatments due to the nature of corrective chiropractic care. (getting to the root cause)

When your spinal vertebrae are out of alignment there is a pinching effect on the nerves. The nerves exiting from the spinal vertebrae not only effect your back and neck but they are connected inversely to the health and effectiveness of the rest of your tissues and organs.
